She began her studies at Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi after graduating with a degree in medicine and surgery in 1985. She earned a master’s degree in O&G after completing her internship and residency (MD and DNBE). She worked for the Ministry of Health in Malaysia as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist, where she oversaw over 20,000 deliveries and presented and published 50 research articles. With her husband, a Consultant Anaesthetist, and two young children, she relocated to Australia.
