Ayurvedic Doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha

A most significant part of the Ayurveda the ancient Indian medical science including three doshas Vata, Pitta, and Kapha are inherent to this system of health care each person has his or her dosha analysis which has to be corrected. What are the Ayurvedic Doshas?
The three doshas are derived from the five fundamental elements (Panchamahabhutas) of nature: as it has been with the presence of the five objects which include earth, water, fire air and space.

Pitta Dosha: Pitta thus combines both fire and water elements and governs metabolism and the digestive process. It is related to the heat, sharpness, and the intensity. Pitta controls the movements of the actions, functions of heat, digestion and formation of secretion as well as excretion products. It also affects our comprehension and wise.
Characteristics: People entrusting the Pitta dosha dominate usually have a middle build, warm skin, and a clear-cut appearance. They may be perfectly reasonable, industrious, and involved individuals who may find it easy to slip into anger or competitiveness if not managed. Pitta Dosha when well maintained brings about efficient digestion and clear mind; if wrongly balanced then it leads to heartburn, inflammation diseases, and angry disposition.
Kapha Dosha: Kapha, synonymous with earth and water, controls structures and lubrication formation in the human body. They bring immunity, skin moisture, and joint lubricating formula to the body. Kapha has been elaborated in terms of qualities such as stability, rigidity, and all that pertains to moisture.
Characteristics: The common characteristics of those having high Kapha dosha include; Heaviness, round face, complexioned or oily skin, and thick hair. Gemini people are usually gentle, affectionate, and caring but may easily become overweight, lazy, or depressed when in imbalance. Healthy Kapha dosha has positive impacts on the body’s immune system as well as the body’s temperate while unhealthy dosha impacts the body via congestion, obesity, and jealousy among others.
The Importance of Balance
In Ayurveda, dosage is a basic and inherent concept that pervades and underpins the view of health and well-being. Therefore, whenever the ratio of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha is maintained in the body of a person, the person is healthy. However, any imbalance of this system causes different diseases in different states of health, encompassing the physical, mental, and emotional aspects.

Maintaining Balance
To maintain the balance of the doshas, Ayurveda recommends several lifestyle and dietary adjustments:
- Diet Vata: Vata imbalance can be balanced by the intake of warm foods and spices, and organic oils. No cold and dry or raw food should be taken since it increases the Vata dosha.
- Pitta: Cooling metabolism foods like protein asparagus, cabbage, cucumber, etc. and sweet bitter food helps to balance pitta. Acknowledge vegetable oils for instance coconut, olive and sunflower oils. Do not take foods that cause heat, this will only escalate Pitta.
- Kapha: This can specifically include warm, dry and proteinaceous items which are said to be fitting in the treatment of the Kapha. This means that when cooking, oils such as the walnut and corn oil should not be so prominent. Some of the foods to be avoided hence, hence troublesome foods which are heavy, oily and cold complicate the problem of Kapha dosha.
Lifestyle
Sleep: There are other health areas that one has to comply and one of them is sleep. Therefore for Vata types, it is recommended to go to bed before 10 PM in order to avoid the condition of sleeplessness and insomnia.
Exercise: All doshas are of help when exercising such as doing yoga, and walking. Avoid anything that can make you lose your balance including rigorous exercises.

They are neither overslept nor hyperactive; the intellect is awake and the body is at rest. Hence, if any doshas are not in harmony within the context of medicine in organizing an individual human body, then results in the diseases that are particular to the certain dosha in the aforesaid organization of a human body of a given person.
